Curriculum Vitae

Qusay Amer joined Habitat Unit in August 2022 as a Research Assistant and Doctoral Candidate in architecture. He is part of the CRC1265, sub-project C08 Architectures of Asylum and at the TU Berlin, Faculty VI Planning Building Environment, Institute of Architecture.

His research focuses on the planning and production of physical interventions in different urban spaces and on the participation of global and national actors, local municipal administrators, planners and architects, as well as representatives of civil society (including residents and refugees) who are involved in the planning, production, or adaptation of places. The project aims to understand not only how the refugees react to the already established governances but also which kind of policies should be discussed and developed to face the complexities of the situation.
