Curriculum Vitae

Elise Nguyen has started working as a student assistant at the Habitat Unit supporting the teaching team in November 2019. She then additionally joined the team for the 'PolyUrbanWaters' research project in 2021.

Elise completed her Bachelor studies in Architecture at the RWTH Aachen in 2018 with an exchange semester at the Università degli Studi Roma Tre in Rome. For her Bachelor thesis, she proposed a strategy for redevelopment of unfinished public buildings in Sicily. During her work at Laura Alvarez B.V. in Amsterdam, she focused on a participatory spatial intervention in the housing settlement of Molenwijk. In 2020, she joined Dr. Alexander Stumm as a student assistant in teaching a course in Architectural History at the Vietnamese German University in Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam. In her master thesis, she is conducting a spatial-analysis of working and housing practices of vietnamese diasporic people in Berlin. Besides her interest in existing structures, she puts focus on an intersectional approach in urban planning and architecture.
