Curriculum Vitae
Elena Valter has been a research assistant at Habitat Unit since October 2023. She is part of the Urban Rural Assembly (BMBF, 2019-2024) research project with a focus on inclusive and sustainable approaches for urban-rural linkages in Germany and China.
She obtained her B.Sc. in architecture from TU Berlin and is currently working on her master’s thesis there, focusing on a feminist perspective on the appropriation and transformation of municipal vacant buildings into spaces of care. Elena is also part of the Natural Building Lab at TU Berlin, where she contributes to the circular timber research project "Woodscraper." Before joining both chairs, she worked at ZRS Architects and Engineers in Berlin. Furthermore, prior to her architecture studies, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics with a focus on geographical economics from the University of Cologne.
