Curriculum Vitae
Edmund joined the Habitat unit in 2023 as a researcher and works on the European Union Horizon 2020 Project SESA (Smart Energy Solutions for Africa). Edmund Teko has also been a researcher at the Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI) since 2020 where he supports international projects in sustainable urban transport and low emission urban development. He has a background in Urban Management and Development Planning, having worked since 2011 with local government authorities international development organizations as well as research institutions. He coordinated regional activities in Africa from January 2020 to November 2021 in relation to the EU-funded SOLUTIONSplus project which aims to enable transformational change towards sustainable urban mobility in cities in Latin America, Africa and Asia through innovative and integrated electric mobility solutions. He also supports a team of researchers working on the Horizon Europe Project TRANS-SAFE (Transforming Road Safety in Africa). Edmund holds a Master of Science (MSc.) in Urban Management and Development from the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) at the Erasmus University Rotterdam – Netherlands.
