Revisiting Participation - Mapping Bottom-up Neighbourhood Regeneration

The International Summer School “Mapping Bottom-up Neighbourhood Regeneration” will investigate the possibilities and methods through which citizens of Berlin, Cairo, Istanbul and Tehran can shape inner-city neighbourhood transformation processes. The summer school is open to students from the four respective cities. It will provide a broad theoretical overview of the global discourse on participation and urban regeneration. Through keynote lectures and presentations renown academics and practitioners will provide insights into ongoing transformation processes in these four dynamic and rapidly changing cities. Students will also attend site visits to contemporary upgrading projects in Berlin, meeting local experts and citizens involved.

WS 2013/2014 - Revisiting Participation - Poster

The summer school is part of the Participatory Urban Regeneration Programme - a three-year cooperation project between the Center for Technology and Society (ZTG) and Habitat Unit (IfA) at TU Berlin, as well as international partner universities. The project is funded by the DAAD programme ‘Hochschuldialog mit der islamischen Welt’. (www.pur.tu-berlin.de)
