Research Papers

This seminar introduces the strategies and methods of scientific urban research, including the selection of a topic, formulating the research question and hypothesis, literature review, empirical field studies and urban analysis. Within a common subject – ‘participative urban practice’ – students will select individual topics and case studies to intensely exercise all steps of a scientific research process, followed by some on-site field studies. In the end, all participants will develop an independent scientific thesis proposal.
