BROWN BAG LECTURE
February 20, 2018 | 12.00 Uhr | A 624

Mapping it out! The territorial ambitions of digital maps.

Moritz Ahlert, new research assistant at the Habitat Unit, presents his artistic/scientific dissertation project, which analyzes the relationship between new technologies for visualizing and generating knowledge from online mapping services, and techniques of maintaining power: surveillance, censorship, manipulation, control, tracking, and the commercial use of information.

This brown bag lecture contains two parts: a theoretical section, plus a presentation of practical case studies/previous works in the field of mapping.
