Curriculum Vitae

From 1998 until 2004, Dipl.-Ing. Karolin Stahl-Wilhelm studied planning at the Technical University of Berlin where she focused on rapidly urbanising areas. From 2005 until 2010, she worked as planning advisor in Peru, Venezuela and Malawi and was responsible for the review of integrated development planning. Additionally, she participated in various research projects about urban development and urban informality. From 2008 until 2009, she taught about the evolution of housing traditions in urban Malawi at the Malawian University, Chancellor College in Zomba. Since 2011, she has been undertaking her doctoral thesis about the modes of urban housing supply in Southeast Africa at the University of Stuttgart. Currently, she is living with her husband and two children (1 and 4 years old) in Mannheim, Germany.
