Curriculum Vitae
Ilkim started her collaboration with Habitat Unit as Guest Researcher in October 2016 by assisting DFG Project "Transnational Production Spaces". Currently she is enrolled in international Architecture (Typology) master program at TU Berlin and continuing her collaboration with the research team as student assistant.
After completing her bachelor's degree in Architecture at Istanbul Technical University, she was granted with full scholarship by the EU Commission (Jean Monnet Scholarship) for a Postgraduate Degree year within EU, which brought her to study in Barcelona. In IAAC, Barcelona (Institute of Advanced Architecture for Catalonia), she studied 3 intense semesters within a year, in a program that aims to understand the current and future issues of urban environments. In her thesis studio Design for Responsive City, she with her group, proposed a neighborhood re-development strategy for Worli BDD Chawl in Mumbai where she spent 15 days for the field trip. Her background with both Architectural and Urban studies brought her to Habitat Unit and specifically to her research group that has a multiscale research topic.
