Giacomo Ceccarelli holds a Bachelor Degree in Architecture and Construction Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milano. He studied in the HvA (Amsterdam), worked as a freelance architect in Amsterdam and Berlin, and is currently completing his masters at the Technische Universität Berlin. Inspired by a survey on architectural heritage in Ladakh, he joined the team of the Himalayan Vernacular Architecture project for surveys in the Khumbu region, Nepal. He is currently working on his master thesis about peri-urban development in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal.

Several design competitions and upgrading master plan for the GE-Campus in Berlin Marienfeld.
In charge of developing a self/built project for a cheap, transportable and flexible living-module realized with a sandwich-system made of foam, wood and composite materials.
Competition for a reconversion of chapel De Zande (Ruiselede, Belgium) into class rooms. Other Projects: Extension of the Rietveld Academy at the Fred. Roeskestraat in Amsterdam; GAK office building which is a feasibility study of a possible new accommodation of that same academy.

Knowledge-design of the diffuse historical built patrimony in Nocera Umbra, central Italy, with the aim of being able to manage the complex and multidisciplinary readings of the conservation/ reuse-design after an earthquake. Relief of the architectonic and structural elements, definition of the damage plan, materials elaboration.
