Organizations
The German
Agency for Technical Co-operation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für
Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH) has been operating as
a service company in international development cooperation
since 1975. GTZ is organized as a private sector company and
is owned by the German Government. With over 10,000 employees
in more than 120 countries throughout the world, GTZ is the
largest German organisation of its kind. GTZ
The DAAD is the largest funding organization in the world supporting the international exchange of students and scholars. The UM Masters Course is one of a total of 35 postgraduate training programs offered at German universities, which is a member of the DAAD program of 'Postgraduate degree Courses' with relevance to developing Countries.
The Technische Universität Berlin is a member of the 'UN HABITAT Partner University Network' since March 2010. The Habitat Unit and the Urban Management Program of the TU Berlin are the focal points for the UN HABITAT Partner Universities initiative.
InWent e.V.
in Cologne, Germany, is a non-profit organization dedicated
to international advanced training and human resource development.
Together with partner organizations in Germany and abroad
it forms an international network offering practice-oriented
training, exchange and foreign language programs.

The Urban Management Program is institutionally linked
to the Habitat
Unit, to the Institute
for Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning
and to the Institute
for Urban and Regional Planning of Faculty VI of the
Berlin University of Technology and benefits from their
contacts and experience. Both institutions cooperate intensively
in teaching and research with national and international
development agencies as well as with individuals and institutions
in Latin America, Asia and Africa.
